Far West Texas — Embroidered Photo on a Junk Mail Envelope

How often do you get junk mail? Literally daily, right? In fact, if it were for my Mail Art Community, I feel like all I’d ever get was junk (thankful for those monthly postcards surprising me in my inbox each month!)

A few months ago, I ran across a photographer on Instagram who prints his photos on junk mail envelopes. It’s pure genius! You can do it at home — so there is no wait from the lab — AND it saves a ton of money. And another bonus… you’re literally upcycling junk and turning it into art.

I decided to take it one step further…

Yep! I embroidered the photograph just like I would do from a formal print or Polaroid. The result is pretty cool if I might say so myself.

I wonder what else I’ll print on junk mail? Or…what else I use as photo paper! The possibilities feel endless!
